YEL Engages Commissioner Micallef in First EU Youth Implementation Dialogue

Young European Leadership (YEL) is proud to share its participation in the first EU Youth Implementation Dialogue, a new consultation format launched by the European Commission to strengthen youth engagement in policymaking. Following its recent selection as a member of the EU Youth Stakeholder Group, YEL was specially invited by European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, Glen Micallef. to join this high-level exchange on 26 June 2025 in Brussels.

The Dialogue focused on the youth policy toolbox, a set of instruments – including the EU Youth Dialogue, Erasmus+, and the European Solidarity Corps – designed to integrate young people’s voices into EU policymaking. By engaging directly with Commissioner Micallef and other key actors in the youth field, YEL contributed concrete perspectives on how these tools can be simplified, made more accessible, and better aligned with young people’s priorities.

This invitation underlines YEL’s role as a strategic advocate for youth interests at the European level. With negotiations on the next EU long-term budget underway, YEL was able to ensure that the voice of youth was positioned at a decisive moment in shaping future priorities and resources.

Through this engagement, YEL reinforces its commitment to equipping the next generation of young Europeans with the tools to lead positive change, while ensuring their concerns and ideas are directly reflected in EU policy.

Stay tuned as YEL continues to represent young leaders in Brussels and beyond, ensuring youth voices remain central in the conversations that shape Europe’s future.
