Young European Leadership (YEL) convened its 2025 General Assembly this week, bringing together its members from across Europe to reflect on the past year’s achievements and set the course for an ambitious new chapter in the organization’s growth.
The highlight of the Assembly was the election of the new Board of Directors, tasked with leading YEL through the next two years, with a mandate to continue to expand the organization’s involve in Europe and beyond.
The newly elected board is as follows:
– President: Augusto Gonzalez
– Vice President: Maïa Madani Davies
– Secretary General: Ana Opre
– Treasurer: Federico Soattin
In his opening remarks, incoming President Augusto Gonzalez emphasized YEL’s commitment to empowering young leaders to shape global policy:
“YEL continues to be a space where young people not only imagine better futures but actively build them. Our new board is determined to strengthen our voice in multilateral fora, enhance our training programs, and increase the visibility of youth-led policy proposals in the European and global arenas.”
The Assembly also featured discussions on YEL’s 2025 strategic roadmap, upcoming delegations to the Y7, Y20, and COP summits, and new partnerships aimed at amplifying youth diplomacy and leadership across borders.
As the organization enters this new chapter, YEL remains committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and impact-driven community of young professionals shaping the future of Europe and the world. We thank all the members of our previous Board, notably outgoing President Eloïse Ryon for her years of service at YEL and wish her the best in her future endeavors. YEL would not be where it is without its past leaders, and we thank them all of their service.
Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming opportunities, delegation applications, and events throughout 2025.
