On March 13th, the European Union’s delegates to the Youth 7 conference launched their European Youth Survey. Targeting individuals aged 16 to 30, the survey aims to ensure a democratic process and foster better representation of the diverse perspectives held by the continent’s youth. This initiative underscores a concerted effort to engage with the demographic whose concerns and aspirations will shape the future of our society.

The European Youth Survey stands as a testament to our delegation’s commitment to inclusivity and participatory governance. By soliciting the opinions of young people from various corners of the EU, we seek to gain insights into the issues that matter most to you. As such, we have partnered with the YouTube Channel “EU Made Simple” which specializes in European politics and topics of relevance to young people. By harnessing the power of digital media, this collaboration aims to promote the democratic process to allow it to reach a wider audience and to allow our Y7 delegates to better understand the needs of young people across Europe.

The timing of the survey’s launch is particularly significant, coinciding with the upcoming Y7 summit in Rome in May of 2024. As delegates prepare to convene and discuss pressing global challenges, the insights gleaned from the European Youth Survey will serve as a valuable resource. By amplifying the voices of young Europeans, policymakers can ensure that their decisions are informed by the perspectives of those who will inherit the consequences of today’s actions.
