On May 19th, Secretary General Augusto Gonzalez gave a lecture to a class of 100 students at The Indian Vidyarthi. This is a youth-led organization which empower students through educational initiatives like their popular Summer School, monthly journals, Fellowship guidance and career counseling. TIV emphasizes mentorship, hosting expert speakers such as G20 Youth delegates, entrepreneurs, Climate Advocates, Authors, National Awardees etc. This year students from more than 100 cities across 20+ countries participated in the week long Summer School 2024, hosted with support of the Commonwealth Students Association and Pathways Vietnam to offer young leaders a global perspective and connections to international opportunities, making TIV a vital resource for youth development.
The lecture focused on the rise of a multipolar world in the 21st century as well as the role of the European Union, China, and India and was well received by the audience. It was followed by 90 minutes of Q&A which covered different areas of modern geopolitics and history from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. With an audience made up primarily of students from India and Bangladesh, this lecture gave YEL the opportunity to bring up the work done by the European Union, highlight its own role in global advocacy, and proposing how to work together in an ever changing world.
A series of other speakers, namely from across India, also spoke to students on topics ranging from politics to entrepreneurship and economics. We would like to thank The Indian Vidyarthi for this collaboration opportunity and we look forward to working further with them in the future.
